HOW WE STARTED
Bruce berrier has dedicated more than 50 years to the menswear industry. While working for corbin in the Midwest in the early 90's, he envisioned returning to easton-- the town and community he loved--to create something of his own. he came home and founded berrier ltd. as a service to a great community, building the personal, trusted clothing store that has since become an easton staple.

Hawick, where Messrs. Scott and Charters founded the company in 1955, has long been known for its knitwear manufacturing, a tradition going back to 1771 when the first stocking frame arrived in town.

In 1907 William Paine founded this famous knitwear brand in Godalming, Surrey, and named it Paines of Godalming. He taught himself to knit as a hobby, but soon this grew into a thriving knitwear business. He developed some of the very first cable-knit sweaters ever produced, selling these to local cricket clubs. By 1920 the business had grown to include supplying speciality shops - principally by adding the Club Colour Trim to a plain cable sweater.

It all started with a pair of original WWII khakis Bill Thomas found at an army surplus store down the road from his college. Those khakis captured his imagination for what they were and what they represented.
